SKU: ppt6evol
6: The Process of Evolution: This Microsoft PowerPoint Show focuses on the process of evolution rather than its results. It describes Natural Selection and how Natural Selection is the agent of change; it “sees” phenotypes, not genotypes. Natural Selection increases and decreases phenotypic frequencies within populations of species via the differential survival and differential reproduction of individuals that have specific phenotypes. In this process, genotypic frequencies are modified.

SKU: ppt7repro
7: Modes of Reproduction: Organisms reproduce sexually and asexually; some species use both modes at different times during their life cycles. Asexual means of reproduction include the processes of binary fission, budding, mitosis, fragmentation, parthenogenesis (animals), or apomixis (plants). Sexual reproduction always involves the production of male and female gametes during meiosis; these cells contain a reduced set of chromosomes in comparison to the full set of chromosomes found in the somatic cells of the species. Following fusion of the nuclei of the gametes at the time of fertilization, the full chromosome number is restored.
